At 1.20 p.m. to-day Captain Edwin wired: " Indications frost tonight or very cold." A very pleasant evening was spent in the Eden Hall last night, when the Ark of Eden Lodge of Good Templars held an "open night." There was a large attendance of members and friends, including members from the Naval Star of Unity from H.M.'s. Curacoa. Mr Grudge was Chairman, and Sister Wright accompanist. One of the principal items on the programme was " Peter Squiils' Downfall," a dialogue for 8, which waa capitally rendered. The song " God Bless Our Home," by Bro. Bunker, was well given. Bro. Cardou's recitation waa also first-class. Both these brothers wore from the war-ship now in port. Miss Millbank (from Epiphany Band of Hope) was -veil worth hearing in her recitation "Billy's Rose." The following other friends also assisted :—Sis. Wright, piano solo ; Bro; A. Diamond, song ; Sis. R. Clark, solo; recitation, Miss F. Blskel.y ; song, Mr Ellis ; recitation, Mr R. White : song, Bro. J. Collinge; song, Bro. J. Ryan : recitation, Bro. E. Moore; song, Sis. H. Clark.
