Wellington, this day. A special meeting of the City Council was held to-day, when it was decided that fche city solicitor's opinion be obtained as to the advisability of taking legal proceedings against the public cemetery trustees for illegally bur.yingdead in land discharged from : the reservation of the Cemetery Act, 1882. TChe Council expressed its approval of the present mode of electing a mayor, and the Council's delegates at the Municipal Conference are to be instructed to oppose any attempt to alter the existing state of tbinge. The members thought it a dangerous step to go back to the eyseem of electing a mayor from fcho Council table poly. ■* * '*r«WJBHS!B* %
