THAMES DRAINAGE BOARD.
A meeting of this Board was held to-day at the office of Mr D. G. MacDonnell, when there were present: Messrs Brodie, Clark, Spratt, Porter, Wilson, Frater, Kissling, McGowan, and Coomer. The chair was occupied by Mr Brodie. The usual report from the manager of the Big Pump was read and received, also that of the Drainage Committee, which was approved of. Coal Supply. — The matter of coal supplies having been discussed at some length it was decided to authorise the manager to procure a month's supply of Bay coal and report result, also to ask the contractor for the supply of coal to quote paces for the supply of Waikato coal delivered ab the Thames. Repairs to the Machinery.—The proposal of Messrs Price Brothers with regard to certain repairs to the machinery of the Big lump was approved, and authority given for the work to be proceeded with. Water Supply.—A resolution was passed that the Thames County Council should be asked to forego any claim for water supplied to the Big Pump. Thanks.—Votes of thanks were accorded the members of fche drainage and coal committees for the trouble that had been taken, and also the Chairman for presiding, after which the meeting concluded.
