MEETING OF CREDITORS.
A meeting of creditors in the estate of William was held ab the office of tho Official Assignee to-day. There were present the debtor, and the following creditors: Messrs W. F. Buckland, Pickard, and Brassey (for Mrs Brassey and Mr Panter). The debtor's sworn statement having been taken the debtor was examined on oath, and made the following statement: —"I have no regular- allowance from my mother. I sometimes receive £8, sometimes £10 and sometimes £12 per month. On two or three occasions since 1886 I have raceivcd extra sums, as much as £200. The last occasion when I received an extra allowance was about February, 1890, when I gob £150 to assist in clearing my liability on the Waipipi property. On one occasion I got £25 for a month's allowance, and more than once 1 have received -„__o a month. 1 used to keep a bank account, but don't now. I have residod in Auckland mostly during the past six months and my family has been in Auckland for two or three months. While in Auckland I earned nothing, and was staying at an hotel at tho cost ot 35s to 40s per week. I made no special effort to get employment. About a couple of months ago I made a lady friend a present of a brooch worth £2. That is tha only jewellery I have given away within the last six month?; I cannot say how much I have speno in buggy hire during that period ; I cannot say if ib amounts to £20."
On the motion of Mr Brassey,- seconded by Mr Buckland, it was resoived, ''That tho meeting stand adjourned for two months to enable tho bankrupt to do what ha can toward liquidating in part or the whole of his liabilities."
