The latest development in regard to the bootmakers' strike is that at a meeting of the Manufacturers' Association last evening in Robeon's Rooms \inder the presidency of Mr Jones it was decided not to entertain Mr Shera's proposals for a conference. The reply to Mr Shera's proposal will be sent through the Employers' Association. A statement of the position from the manufacturers' point of view was made to a deputation from the Knighte of Labour, who will consider ib in connection with the statement already made by the operatives. Each party has now settled down to wait lor tha others giving in,
