OUR GOLDFIELDS.

Arizona (Kuaotunu). —A three-feet roe* was recently cut in this mine, trad though Mr Stone was very pleased with the quality of the ore, which was heavily mineralised, no gold could be seen. A quantity was, however, sent for assay, and the result was a surprise to all concerned. The stono contained at the rate of 31oz Odwb 2gr of bullion to the ton, of which loz sdwt ogr waa gold and 290z 14dwt 21gr silver. The vllue of the bullion per ton is £9 10s. Saxon.—The work of timbering , up the east and west drives at the low level has now been just about finished, and tho work on reef cau now apain bo resumed. Sylvia.—Crushing has again been commenced. The recent return has caused a good deal of disappointment here. Dives.—Crushing will be started in a day or two. Success.—Another six-inch leader; 'has been cub in the low levsl drive. A trial crushing is now being broken out from tho reef intersected a week or two ago. The quartz ia heavily mineralised and looks well, though no gold has yet been. seen. Lone Hand.—A crushing of 7j9 loads of quartz has produced 420z lOdtvt gold. Five loads from the intermediate level gave 4oz lOdwt. A nice-looking leader 4 inches thick has been cut in the taw level.
