H.M.s. Orlando leaves Hobarb for Auckland on the 19th insb. The s.s. Manapouri got awjay for Sydney at 5-30 last evening. The schooners Waiapu and Gisborne, go down the East Coasb again in a few days. The Auckland-owned brigantine Sarah Pile left Adelaide for Rockhampton (Q.)on bhe 28th ult. The schooner Louie goes hence as usual back to Lyttelton via the Thames, taking a timber cargo. The s.s. Wainui leaves for Tonga and Samoa to-night with, as usual, a full general cargo. The locally-owned brigantine Defiance, Capbain Johnson, is loading coals at Newcastle for Auckland. The " Australasian Shipping News " reports the ship Nelson, 1247 tons, as loading ib London for Auckland. The Adelaide, barquentine, is loading coals at Sydnoy for bhe Thames, whence she loads kauri to Sydney. The Auckland - owned barque Wenona, Captain Thow, left Melbourne on the 2nd insb. for Hokianga to load back. A lar<*e five-masted American schooner, the Loufs, 820 tons, arrived ab Melbourne a few days ago from Pugeb Sound, lumberladen. The tug Awhina is fitting up for her trip across to Newcastle, having changed hands. She leaves in a few days. She docks tomorrow. The brig Rio Loge, of Lyttelton, is at Newcastle loading coals for th<* Mauritius, whence she will return with sugar for New Zealand. The schooner Torea ia expected to arrive here from Rarotonga about the end of nexb month, with the first oranges of the Hervey Group season. The Island schooner Agnes Donald, Captain Owens, is expected back here from, bhe Gatnbier Group with pearlshell, via lahitl, about the end of next month. The Little Agnes, Donald and Edenborough's Island sbeamer, may be looked for here on her return from New Caledonia at aboub the eni of this week. Captain Le Prevost, iormerly chief omeer of the barque Lutterworth, is now in command of the barque Alcestis, at present in Lyttelton from the Mauritius. '

The German barque Valparaiso, 486 tons, Captain Ahrens, which arrived at Port Chalmers on the 30th ult. from New York, has about 200 tons of general cargo for Auckland. She comes up here via Wellington and loads here back to New York. The Saida, an Austrian warship, is now at Melbourne, having arrived there on the 29th ulc. from the East Coast of Africa via Albany and Adelaide. She is on a cruise round the world. The 14-ton cutter Chelsea, Jos. Creighton, master, has come in again from Turanga Creek after a long period of absence, during which she has been trading bofcween Wairoa South and the Thames. The fore-and-aft schooner Three Cheers, 100 tons, Capt. J. W. Cranch, arrived in port again early this morning, as usual from Newcastle laden with coals. She took 20 days on the trip across, light woather prevailing. A couple of days ago she was in company with the ship Persian Empire, London to Auckland, off the Cavalles. The Mombasa, British India steamer, arrived ab Sydney on the 2nd inst. from Calcutta, via Adelaide and Melbourne. She is a fine steamer of 4,602 tons register, tho largest vessel thab has yet been placed in the Indian and Australian trado, the Company finding the expansion of trade required larger steamers than those hitherto employed.
