Drunkenness.—Three first offenders wfere (Sach fined ss, or 24 hours' in default;.— Elizabeth Hennessy was fined £1, or in default seven days' hard, labour for having been drunk. j s In-decent Exposure. — John Thomas Smith was charged with having indecently exposed himself in Queen-street.— AccuAed pleaded nob guilty.—Constable Mathieson and W. G. Garrard gave evidence in support of the information.—Prisoner was sentenced to 14 days' hard labour. Assault.—Alfred Morrison was charied ■with having unlawfully assaulted Jariies Johnson at Newmarket on January 31etL— Mr T. Cotter appeared for the defendant _ James Johnson gave evidence, and various other witnesses were examined. ul t ;. mately, the Bench decided to inflict a fine of Is, without costs, as the assault was df a trivial nature. Alleged Obscene Language.-JanUs Brady, a lad about sixteen, was charged with having used obscene language towards Margareb Scully in Victoria-street. Mr'c. E. Madden appeared for the accused and pleaded nob guilty. Mr J. O'Meagher appeared for the complainent. An amoqnb of conflicting evidence was heard Ultimately the Bench sentenced the lad to'be imprisoned at the Police Station until tour o'clock.
