THE DUNEDIN CUP.
Hilda promises to go to the post for the Dunedin Cup a warm favourite. If all accounts are true, Crackshob is showing signs of the large amount of racing and travelling he has done this season, and has exhibited symptoms of soreness. Should Crackshot turn oub to be a non-starter, Hilda will be rid of probably her most formidable antagonist. Prime Warden has been running so well lately thab he wil have plenty of admirers for the race, and although I'm ore of them, I fancy the distance is a bib too far for the brother to Antelope. Freedom is a sterling good colt, and the Forbury course appears to suit liim, so he is pretty certain to want some beating. On figures, Occident musb have a downright good show, bub on tbe whole I fancy thab the Auckland representative Hilda will be found capable of winning, and a great thing in her.favour is that 'she is a downright good stayer.
