THE SOUTH AUSTRALIAN WHEAT CROP.
Adelaide, this day.
The registered wheat yield is far below expectations. This is largely due to the locusts, the average loss representing three or four bushels an acre, or in value nearly one million sierling. The total yield is 12,374,000 quarters, or an average of about bushels per acre. After making allowances, the exportable surplus will be about 235,000 tons.
