The first-class fishing boat race and second-class open boat race at the annual Regatta are to be sailed ovor again on Saturday, bhe 14bh insb., bo settle disputes as to the prize-winners.
The cause list prepared for bhe February Civil Sessions of the Supreme Courb is very short, comprising only bhree cases, viz :— John Mcintosh v. Alfred Thomas Knee, for £260, rent," etc., of certain premises; James Rae v. Alfred H. Greenway, for £348 10s 6d, money lent; Moss Davis v. Patrick Long, for accounts ft> be taken re colonial ale, etc., purchased other than from plaintiff, etc.
Mo mother need be withoub a perambulabor when she can obbain one for 9s 6d. Ib appears thab Messrs Gariick and Cranwell have decided to supporb local industry so far as to close importing English and American perambulators, and they are virtually giving away their present stock of foreign-made perambulators at one-tourth, or less, of their present value.
An opportunity to obtain a summer residence close to bhe sea-shore, within easy distance of town, will be given on the 25th of this month, when the Balmoral estate, Takapuna, will be offered for sale in con-veniently-sized allotments. The property is close to the Takapuna Lake and commands views of lake, ocean, and surrounding scenery. Plans are now ready, and car. be obtained from Mr O'Meagher, Takapuna Lake Hotel, Takapuna. The auctioneer is Mr R. C. Carr.
The Auckland master blacksmiths and bheir employees intend holding a general holiday and picnic on bhe 28th inst., and a committee are actively canvassing in town for prizes for a series of sports.
Mr W. D. Dallen, the well-known restaurant keeper, met with a rather serious accident early last evening. He went home from town with a friend, and after tea they went out for a ride on horseback from his residence at Mount Albert along the Kingsland Road Ab the head of bhe Kingsland B,oad Mr DaUen's horse bolted, and threw him so heavily thab he sustained severe injuries about the head and face, one ear being nearly cub in two. Mr Dallen was taken home, and Dr. Lewis having been sent for, ordered his removal to the Hospital, where he is now under medical treatment.
With reference to S. Hyndman, who was injured while attempting to rescue the entombed men ab Huntly, Dr. Kenny, in bis report presented at the Hospital Board meeting yesterday, stated ; " Hyndman's case ia still hanging in the balance. He has not made any real advance towards recovery since his admission, the paralysi. of bhe Darts affected being a till complete. I am inclined so look unfavourably upon the future of this case, as I am afraid the spinal cord has been too seriously injured to recover."
Ab the R.M. Court to-day, the majority of the judgment summons cases set down were adjourned. In the case of John Tozer and Frank Tozer v. Ephraim Mills, claim £9 14s, the defendant was examined, and no order was made. In Edward Langley v. Richard Kearns, there was no appear ancs for the defendant, but an order was made by consent for payment at the rate of til per week. In the case Sbirchbury v, Adams, and cross-action Adams v. Stitch-ba-ry, continued from yesterday, counsel addressed the Court this morning at great length and judgment was reserva* 1 -
