Crristchurch, this day. At the Supreme Courb this morning, be fore Mr Justice Denniston, the "Rβ feree" case was argued. The case was an appeal from the judgment of Mr Beetham, R.M., in which the appellants, Selig and Bird, were fined £50 each, or, in default, three months' imprisonment, for having advertised that they would receive money for putting on the totalisator, which was held to* be a breach of tho Gaming and Lotteries Act.
