A recent Maryborough (Queensland) report says :— " The labour schooner Roderick Dhu will leave Maryborough for the South Sea Islands with somewhere about 30 return kanakas. Considerable interest attaches to this vessel's departure, as, indeed, to the sailing of all South Sea Island vessels of late. Next Wednesday week, December 31sb, finishes for ever the period when vessels can starb from Queensland to recruit among the South Sea Islanis.
