THE MARY S. AMES.

The American wooden barque Mary S. Ames, 667 tons, already well-known in this port from previous visits, arrived in port last evening from New York via Wellington with part cargo of general American merchandise. Capfc. Crocker is still in command. Tho Mary left New York on July 23rd last, and after discharging part cargo at WeJliugton left that port on December 13th for Auckland. When off the East Cape she experienced a heavy W.N.W. gale, which lasted for a week or more. Thence she had southerly breezes to port. She loads kauri gum here for New York.
