GASWORKS EMPLOYEES' UNION.
A general meeting of the above Union was held last evening in Sexton's Hall. Karangahape Road, when there was a very attendance. After the usual routine business and correspondence had been got through, the notice of motion re rule 11 of the Union was taken into consideration, when it was resolved to reduce the entrance fee from £1 to 2a 6d, alao that the fixed contributions be altered to a graduated scale of payments iv proportion to the amount of wages received by the members of the Union. Two pounds were voted from the general fund in aid of the Huntly miners, and a subscription liet was ordered to be opened for their further assistance. The delegates to the Trades and Labour Council were authorised to etrenuously support the movement for federation of all Unions affiliated with that body.
