Speaking at Norman by last night, Mr Hutchison said he had not authorised his agent to ask for the postponement of the Whitaker-Hutchison trial till February, and he did not believe his agent had done so. Tbe application of plaintiff was not merely to have the case seb down for the 10th of December, because he could have fixed that without reference to the Court, but to have a special jury in Wellington hearing the case a few days after the elections would be unfair to him. He had no objection to the case coming on, but merely to the special jury application.
