WESLEYAN DISTRICT MEETING.

MONDAY MORNING.

TnE district meeting in its pastoral session resumed its sittings at 10 o'clock thi3 morning. Present: Revs. Wm. Lee (presiding), H. H. Lawry, A. Reid, J. Smith, J. S. Riahworth, J. Law, E. Best, W. Keall, J. H. Simmonds, T. G. Carr, J. Thomas, S. Lawry, J. Dukes, C. H. Garland, S. Griffith, T. F. Jones, G. T. Marshal), A. C. Lawry, T. A. Joughin, and Hauraki Paul. After devotional exercises the minutes were read and confirmed.

Papeks and Reports Received.—The medical certificate of tho candidate, Mr Bellhouee, was furnished by Dr. Lawry, aiid was considered satisfactory. The meeting also received reports of the work of the students in the Theological College from the classical and mathematical tutor, and the lecturers on English, Ecclesiastical History, and Exegesis. Conversation on Home MISSIONARIES.A long conversation look place on the status of home missionaries and the state of our Home Mission station, and a recommendation was forwarded to Conference. Centenary of Wesley's Death. —Rev. asked whether any arrangement was made for the celebration of the centenary of tho death of John Wesley. Ke?. William Lee said that) he had received a communication from the President of tijQ Conference, intimating that ib was arranged that a meeting be held in Hfcfcslreet Church on March 2nd to celebrate tne event, special speakers to be appointed, and a collection to be made in aid of foreign missions. , Time fob Holding District Meeting.— Seyeral speakers recommended holding the District Meetinp in the month of January. It was pointed out that the Conference is now held in March,and theinterval betweon November and March would be too long ; but the matter was left until the laymen had been consulted.
