London, November 23. The severe panic of the last week is dying, and on Saturday a tremendous reaction took place in the sharemartct. Government and other Etocks improved greatly. Colonial stocks rose from a half to one in an amazing manner. Baring Bros, seem to be
on the road to a stronger combination than ever. It is understood that Mr Edward Guiness, the treble millionaire, joins the firm, and that Mr J. C. Baring will place the whole of his enormous fortune to the credit of the house. Hogson Francis and John Baring will remain in the directorate.
