, (Before Dr. J. Giles, R.M.) Drunkenness.—One firsb offender was fined 5s or forby-eight hours in default. Protection Order.—John Nelson was charged with having assaulted Annie Nelson.— Mr A. E. T. Devora appeared and asked to withdraw the charge, which was granted. —Defendant consented to a protection order being made. Larceny.—Christian Sanvig appeared on remand having been previously convicted of stealing £1 10s belonging to Margaret Milner.—The Probation Officer, Mr Reston, reported favourably as to tho character of the accused. —Hia Worship placed the prisoner on probation for six months; also to pay costs incurred and refund the amount taken. Destitute Persons Act.—Roberb Hill was charged with having allowed £6 10e arrears of maintenance order to accumulate.—His Worbhip remarked thab some money had been forwarded, and adjourned the hearing for three weeks.
