LYTTELTON WHARF LABOURERS.

Yesterday a deputation from the Lyttelfcon Wharf Labourers' Union waited upon the Committee of the Stevedoring Association and requested thataffairs with regard to employment of-wharf labourers might be restored to the position they were in before the strike. They were informed that the Association could nob do this, bub Union men were being employed, and no difference made in the former wages. The Mayor of Lybtelton and some members of the Borough Council waited on the Stevedores' Association Committee, and requested them to omploy Unionists out of work. The committee pointed out that though they could not dismiss free labourers who had helped them through the recent difficulty, they were employing many Unionists, thab the latter were earning more than free labourers, and thab last week Unionists' earnings exceeded the free labourers by over £100.
