Messrs Arthur and Buddle's Weekly Kepobt.—B\isiness generally has been brisk. We have held eight auction sales since last report, and satisfactory prices have ruled at. all. On Saturday we Bold a largo consignment of bananas and pines, ex Taupo from Ifiji. Uuyers attended in full numbers, and. considering the recent heavy arrivals of these fruits, fair prices ! •wererealised. On Monday, MrS. A. Aalier'e Bale of. unredeemed pledges took place in the Agricultural Hall. The attendance was very large throughout the day, and a large number of lines were quitted at satisfactory prices. Tuesday: Our usual produce sale was held, and a fair quantity of stuff was put through. On Wednesday, at ten o'clock, we sold a consignment of bananas and pines, ex Wainui from ■ Tonga, and at noon, household furniture and effects; at both the attendance was numerous. The Arch Hill brickyard plant was sold onr Thursday on the premises, and resulted satisfactorily. Friday's market sale was a very full one. Entries in all departments continue to increase weekly, as the splendid facilities of our new promises for handling and oxhibiting consignments become better known. In the poultry department ttie pens were well filled, and fine prices ruled. Produce of all kinds wne entered in very large quantities, and was well competed for. During the week new potatoes Save come forward freely, and have met with a brisk demand, A few tons of old from Nupicr have realised £5 per ton. Cheese has teen in good supply, tho demand being equal. There is an improving demand for prime dairy - fed bacon and bams. Fresh butter was in full supply, and realised about last week's values.
