KAURI GUM SUMMARY.
At the present time of writing the local kauri gum market is very firm for all good qualities. Stocks in Auokland are very heavy just now. We quote to-day .-—Fair to medium, £41 to £42; good to superior, £43 to £44; East Coast, £59. The local supplies since last mail are 550 tons, and for the month of October just.oompleted 665 tons. The American barque B. Webster is loading kauri gum for New York, and" is expected to clear in a fortnight. The barque Clan McLeod, loading flax here for New York, takes a little gum. The vessel to follow on the New York berth is the Star of the East, now at Wellington;
