Sic, —Everybody is telling us to be sure to vote for a good member this next election as our future well-being depends on the matter, as it will mean thousands leaving us, or thousands coming. Now, Mr Editor, I will tell you what sort of a man I would like to vote for, and I can find more than one of thie sorb in Newton. First, owner of £500 of property in the district, therefore a small stake in the country ; second, to vote with Sir George tirey on all matters, great and small, and to follow him loyally as leader ; third, as a proof of good faith and tvue motive in the hour of our country need, pay one hundred pounds on the day he ie elected member, to the Newton Borough Council, for the improvement of Newton, or'to the benevolent institutions of the city, as the election committee may decide.—l am, etc, Newion. *
