ATTEMPTED SUICIDE-
DESPONDENT MAN CUTS HIS THROAT.
About midnight a man named Frederick David Joseph Hunter, who resides with hia wife and family, attempted to commit suicide by cutting his throat. He succeeded in inflicting a wound four inches long in the side of his neck, but fortunately not one of a dangerous character. The wound was stitched up by Dr. Mackellar, and the man waa removed to the Hospital about 1 o'clock this morning, where he received further attention from Dr. Collins.
Mrs Hunter states that her husband had been out of work for some time past, and was consequently somewhat despondent. He was out lasb night and had had some liquor, although he was nob drunk. He gob the razor, and hie wife, guessing afa his object, seized his arm. Hunter, however, threw himself backwards on the bed and succeeded in inflicting a skin wound. It is nob anticipated that the results will be serious.
