A quantity of stocfi changed hands today on the Exchange, although business was nob so brisk as yesterday. Colonial Bank shares sold for 425, and New Zealand Insurance were inquired tor at 665, whilst South British Insurance were wanted ab 25s 6d, and £1010s was offered for Auckland Gas shares. Inquiries were also made for Union Oil shares at 9s 9d. In mining stock numerous sales are reported although Kuaotunu . shares appear to be quieter. Try Fiuko sold for 13s lOd, 13s 3d and 12s 9d, the market closing with sellers ab 13s and no buyers. Red Mercury shares sold at lower rates than yesterday, parcels changing hands at 4s and 3s 9d, with sellers at the former figure. Other sales were, Mariposa, 2s 3d and 2s Id ; Carbine, 2s 5d and 2s 6d; Bonanza, 2s Id and 2s 2d : and Lady Carrington, Is 2d and Is 3d; Otama, Is lid and 2s id. Waitaia shares were offered ab 2s 2d, but bhere were no buyers. In Thames stock the May Queens still head the list.sales being reported at 4s 9d and ss, with buyers at 4s 8d and sellers at ss. Dives were sold for 2s 6d and 2a §d, and Cambrias at 2s and 2s Id. Saxons were asked for at 5s 3d and Moanataiaris at 4s 6d. Silvertons (Waihi) were still inquired for at Is 4d.
