THREATENED COAL FAMINE.
Uneaeinesvis felt at Nelson at the prospect of a coal famine. There is barely sufficient coal in the place to keep the local steamers going, and several establishments where steam power is used are already obliged to fall back on wood. The floods.at Collingwood lost Sunday carried away a bridge on the line from the coalmine near to the port, and ten days must elapse before more coals can be got from there.
