MR GEO. C. MILN'S SEASON.

The appearance of Mr Goo. C. Mil in hi gveab impersonation of " Hamlet, Prince o 1 Denmark," on Monday evening at the Opera House is being talked about with a considerable amount of enthusiasm by the theatre-goere of this city. It is now some years since an actor confining himself solely to the legitimate drama visited New Zealand, and for this reason, added to Mr Miln's distinguished reputation, the forthcoming Shaksperian revival is likely to be an unqualified success. The character in which Mr Miln has elected to introduce himaelf to the Auckland public is, perhaps, Shakspere's most sublime creation, and its interpretation has always been regarded with the keenest interest, not only by the Shaksperian student, but also by what may be termed the outsider. Mr Miln's conception of the many varied changes of temperament exhibited by the melancholy prince is said to be one of the finest studies ever seen upon the Australian stage, and both, press and public havo been unanimous in awarding him their unstinted praise. The longest run of "Hamlet" ever made in the Australian colonies was achieved by Mr Miln during hie first season in 'Melbourne. On Monday evening "Hamlet", will bo produced with the same scenery and accessorieswhichelicitedsomuch enthusiasm in tho Victorian capital, and the patrons of the Opera House are promiseda scenic display never before excelled in thi3 colony. The company in support is both large and efficient, and included names well-known to the Australian thoatre-goer, amongst which may bo mentioned Mise Kate Douglas, who plays Ophelia, an impersonation of which the Southern papers speak most highly r Miss Ruby Bowman, "Miss Hamilton, Miss Daisy . Strathmore, and Messrs Collet Dobson, Wm. Holman, J. H. Nunn, W. Montgomery, G. Cosgrave, W. Carle, C. Wakefiold, and A. Money. The box plan is filling up well, and a crowded house is anticipated.
