RETRENCHMENT.
(To the Editor.) Sir,—The praiseworthy action of those members of the House of Representatives who have called upon the Government to reduce'the estimates by £50,000, is worthy of recognition, and I would suggesb bhab a meeting of either the Chamber of Commerce or of the public should be called for the purpose.—l am, etc., New Zealand.
