LATEST PARLIAMENTARY.
(BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN REPORTER.) THE HUTCHISON CHARGES. PROPOSED COMMITTEE OF INQUIRY. — i Wellington, this day. This afternoon the Hon. Mr Mitchelson will ask for leave to move without notice that a select Committee be appointed to ascertain whether or nob any of the accusations against the Government, especially against certain members thereof, made by Mr Hutchison on the 2nd inst. are, in substance true or false, and to report their opinion thereon, with power to call for persons and papers and report within fourteen days, the Committee to consist of Messrs Ballance, Bryce, Fitchetb, Fulton, Hall, Larnach, Ormond, McArtbur and Seddon. This motion will probably lead to an animated discussion of the whole question in tho House. SIR ROBERT STOUT. In reply to a round robin forwarded to Sir Robert Stout, he has replied that he will be unable to give a reply until he returns to Dunedin a week or a fortnight bence. SUNDAY ISLAND PETITION. The Petitions Committee report that Mr Howell, the Sunday Island settler, has no claim against the colony for alleged misrepresentation on the part of the Government. 4 THE DEBATE. There is every prospect of tbe Financial debate occupying the remainder of tho present week.
