THE SARAH PILE.
Early this morning the well-known little locally-owned brigantine Sarah Pile, 115 tons, Capt. Simon McKenzie, completed a round trip of 42 days down to the island of Rarotonga, in tho Hervoy Group, and back, bringing a full cargo of oranges in» good condition. The brigan tine's Island trip was an uneventful one, though some rather nasty weather was experienced on the return voyage from Rarotonga. The Sarah Pile left Auckland on May 28 last for Rarotonga, under charter to Messrs Donald and Edenborough, and made the run down to the Horveys in twelve days. On discharging cargo she loaded a full shipment of oranges at Avarua Harbour for Auckland, and left Rarotonga for this port on the 16th ulb. For several days she had light airs and calms, being in sight of the island for three days. Then a succession of westerly winds and squally rainy weather was had, the breezes often increasing to a gale and dying away again to a calm, with a strong westerly sea. For several days the schooner made only about 20 miles per day. Cape Brett was passed at 4 p.m. yesterday, and Captain McKenzie anchored in port at 7.30 a.m. to-day.
