Messrs Arthur and Buddle's Weekly Re' port.—A lairly busy week in all departments - Potatoes have come to baud in excess of demand, therefore prices have lowered: at reduced prices could not clear out. If growers had sent them in earlier, even a fortnight ago. a good price would have been obtained ; then ■we could not supply orders. Onions are not in great demand. Goo;] dairy-fed bacon and hams are wanted. Good corned butter is wanted. Fresh butter has averaged a better price, bringing froßi 4d to Bd. Pastry and inferior butter but little worth; have sold at ljdtoljd. Fresh eg-gjs have brought a high price, viz.. Is 9cl to Is lid per dozen. Cheese moves olf slowly at late prices ; hut little first-class. Pumpkins in good supply, fair prices obtained. Grain and horse feed moves off slowly. Fruit has come to hand in large quantity; very satisfactory prices have been obtained. Poultry: A good number were entered. Fowls did not sell so high as they did la3t week. Dunks sold well, i urkeys brought good prices. Pigs: A good number were entered. Prices were satisfactory. Many were very small- Furniture has brought satisfactory prices. Flax: Fourteen ton 3of flax have been sold at satisfactory prices. The following arc the lowest and highest prices at which we have sold this week:—Fowls, Is to 2s 10d; chicks, 9d to Is 2d; ducks. Is 7d to 2s 4d; geese, 2s 4d to 3s: turkeys. 4s 3d to 4s 91; pigeons, Gd to 7d ; pigs, 2s to 8s 9d: potatoes, 2s 2d to 4s 6d: pumpkins, 2s 6d to 3s 7d ; onions, gd to ird ; carrots, 6d to 9Jd per dozen; parsnips, 4»d to6d: turnips, 5d to 3id ; rhubarb. 2s to 3s 6d; cabbages. Is lid to 4s; piemelons, Is 2d to 2s 8d; pigs' I'eed, 2s to 2s 10d per lOOib ; oats, 2a to 2s-3d; wheat, 3s 3d: maize, 33 9d; bran, 4s; sharps. £a; citron melons, Zs ; beetroot, 10d per dozen ; fresh butter, 4d to 8d; inferior keg butter, Ud to liid; bacon, old, 4d to 7d; bacon, new. 3d to "l\d : hams, 5d to Sd; coffee, Is to Is 3d ; biscuits, 4d; lollies, 41d; tea, Is 6d; apples, various kinds, 3d to 2|d; pears. Id to lid; guavas, 2d to 2kl; medlars, Sd to gd : walnuts, inferior, 3Jd to 4Jd ; peamits. lid; lemons, to Is 5d per dozen: passion fruit, 2id; Island oranges (in bad'order), 3s to 3s 9d a case. Mr Alex. Aitken's Market Report.—A satisfactory amount of general business has been done, supplies of all kinds being particularly heavy. Potatoes have come to hand in quantities far in excess of requirements, and the market, is temporarily glutted. Bnt few sales of importance have been effected, as lower values are offering. Waikatos, £3 5s to £4; others. £1 to £310s. Maize is rather dull at 3s to 3s 3d; wheat, prime, 33 to 3s 3d; oats, local. Is 8d to 2s; bran, £4; sharps, £5; pumpkins, good, 2s 6d to 3s Bd, poor. Is 7d ; kunaeras, white is, red 73 6d ; piemelons, 2s 6d to 3s ; citrons, 4a to 4s 6d; watermelons, 3s to 4s per sack; cow potatoes, 20s; carrots, 2s 3d to 3s; mangolds, 2bs to 30s ; onions, full supply, at Jd to fd, picklers, Jd. Bacon and hams are in good demand. A few parcels to hand sold freely at 6d to 7d for bacon, and 7d to Sdforhanis. Cheese lias moved, more freely at 3d to 3Jd, factory 4d to 4Jd. Butter, fresh, js a glut at present, and only saleable at very poor prices; prini'e, 4d to 7d, other kinds 2d to 3d'; tons of inferior kinds arc at- present on the market. Eggs were in better supply, but short of requirements, at Isßd to 2s per dozen. Prime keg butter finds fair demand at 6Jd to 7d, other kinds unsaleable. Honey : A few tons to hand, hut no sales of importance have been effected. Values are 2Jd for bulk, and 3d for 101b tins; section, 3d to 3Jd. In the poultry departmont the supply was large; the demand was not good, Jthere being no shipping requirements. Prices ruled much lower than they have for many mouths. Good table lots realised Is 3d to Is 7d; others, 9d to Is 2d; roosters, 9d to Is 6d; ducks. Is 6d to 2s 6d each; pure fowls, Is 9d to 3s each; turkeys, none; geese, 2s 3d to 23 8d each. Pigs were entered in good numbers; prices ruled satisfactory, and the demand somewhat improved; first-class lots, 7s 3d to 10s; others, 3s to 6s 9d. ' Local fruits have been in largo supply, and quality in most instances first-class; values all round unchanged. Good cooking apples, Id to lAd; Reine.tte dv Canada, Id to lid; Ohinemuri, lid to lid; Stone Pippin, ljd to ljd; Takapuna Russet, 2?. dto 3d ; other sorts, Id to2d; a few Tjoorlots,'i;dto?d; pears, Napoleons, ljdtoljd; Buerre Die), 2id to 3d; Winter Nelis, 3id to 4Jd: lemons, large supply, at 8d to Is; very small, 4d to 6d ; inferior, 3d; tomatoes, JSd to l»d; medlars, jd to |d per lb; passion fruit. 2Jd to 3d. Orangeu are a glut at present, four cargoes having arrived during the week, and sales are rathor slow, at 4d to 5d per dozen; mandarins, 6a 6d per case; limes, 2s per case of 6CO.
