WAITEMATA COUNTY COUNCIL.
A special meeting of the members of the above body was held ab 1 o'clock today in consequence of to-morrow being a holiday. There were present -. Messrs McLeod, Mollatt, Thompson, Bishop, Mackay, Sinclair. In the absence of the chairman, Mr Mackay was elected to preside. . Mairetaiii Loax. —It was resolved,on the motion of Cr. McLeod, seconded by Cr. Sinclair, " That for the purpose of providing for the interest and sinking fund "of a loan of £1,000 raised under the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1886, for public works in the Mairetahi outlying district, Helensville Riding, there be made and levied by special order, a special rate of four farthings in the £ on all the rateable property in the said Mairetahi outlying district, and that such rate shall be an annually recurring rate, dating from the Ist of April, 1890, and shall be payable to the County Treasurer on the second day of August in each year and every year until bhe loan in respecb of which such special rato is made has been paid off,"
