FOOTBALL MEETINGS.

GORDON CLUB,

The annual meeting of the Gordon Football Club was held last evening in the Imperial Hotel. There was a fair attendance of members, Mr M. Herrold, captain, in the chair. The secretary, Mr C. Z. Clayton, read the annual report and balance-sheet, which showed that the Club had last season for the first time won the Senior Cup of the Rugby Union, Thefirst fifteen had played nine matches, won eighb, and losb one. The second fifbeen played eighb, won bhree, losb four, and drew one. The Club had been worbhily represenbed in Auckland representative team by Messrs Herrold, Jervis, 11. Lusk, H. Poland and V. Reed. The balance-sheet showed a small balance in hand. The report and balance-sheet was adopted and a number of new members were elected. The elecbion of officers resulted as follows :— President, Mr C. F. Bourne; vice-presi-dents, Messrs J. H. Coates, A. H. Lees, L. Ehrenfried, W. E. Outhwaite, W. L. Rees, J. W. Herrold ; captain, Mr M. Herrold ; deputy-capbain, Mr R. B. Lusk; secretary, Mr T. Neill; committee, Messrs Lusk, Rees, Jervis; delegates, Messrs J. J. Poland, R. B. Lusk. The election of a secretary for the second fifteen was deferred. A half-mile race will be held before the season opens to encourage players to get into form. Thearrangemeutsfor gymnasium practice, etc., wore left in the bauds of bhe Committee. Votes of thanks wore accorded to Mr J. Coates for the gift of a handsome trophy last year, and to the retiring officers for past services. SELWYN CLUB. The annual meeting of the Selwyn Football Club was held lasb eveniug in bhe Barrel Hobel, Parnell. The report and balance-sheet were laid before the meebing by the Secretary, Mr A. H. Barnefeb, and were adopted, being considered very satisfactory, considering that lasb season was bhe club's firsb as a senior fifbeen. The firsb fifbeen played 7 mabches, won 1, drew 2, losb 3, and one was left undecided. The elecbion of officers resulbed :—President, Mr F. J. Moss: Vice-Presidenbs, Hon. E. Mitchelson, W. H. Lennard, W. S. Lyell, J. 11. Johnston, C. Hesketh, and P. Mclnkyve; captain, Mr L. Hill; depuby, MrC.Speighb ; secretary and treasurer, Mr W. Geard ; committee, Messrs Hill, Graham, and Gash; delegates, Messrs Pollard and F. Murray. Twenty new members were elected. A cup presented by Mr W. H. Lennard for the best all-round play was presenbed to Mr L. Hill.

I NORTH SHORE FOOTBALL CLUB, i A well-attended meeting was held in the Masonic Hotel, Devonport, lasb evening. Mr E. W. Burgess, having been voted to bhe chair, explained the object of the meeting, and moved, and ib was unanimously adopted :—l. " Thab ib is desirable that the North Shore Football Club be resuscitated. 2. That with the view of securing a strong team to ropresenb Devonporb, bhe Pirates Foobball Club be invited bo abtend a meeting to be held on Thursday (to-day), at 8 p.m., to consider the advisability of combining the two clubs under the name of North Shore Football Club." Several other matters in connection with tho Club having been discussed, it was decided to adjourn the meeting until 8 o'clock this evening. Should the two clubs join, and there is no reason why they should nob, bhere is every reason to believe thab the Shore will be well represented, both in the Senior and Junior Cup matches, ORIENT CLUB. The above Club held its annual meeting last evening in tho Family and Naval Hotel, Newton. There was a gocd attendance of members. The report showed that during last season the Club had been very successful, having tied with the Vv T anderers forsecond placefor bhe Junior Rugby Union's challenge cup. The Club played 12 matches, winning 8, losing 3, and drawing 1. As bhe Wanderers and Native Rose Clubs have both decided to contest the possession of the Junior Cup of the Auckland Rugby Union, it was decided that the Orient should do likewise. This now makes bhree clubs that will leave the.Junior Rugby Union, and play for the Junior Cup. New members wero elected ; and Mr M. Roberts was elected captain, with Mr A. Dunn vicecaptain, Mr Edenborough secretary, and Mr R. Taylor delegate to the Union. POKENO FOOTBALL CLUB. The annual meeting of the Pokeno Football Club was held on 29th March last. Mr Albon was voted to the chair. Twenty-two members, old and new, joined at the meeting. The Captain of lasb year, Mr G. Dean, was re-elected. Mr A. M. Rust was elected treasurer, Mr C. Vinson secretary, Mr R. Hobbs, M.H.R., and Mr W. Motion were unanimously elected president and vice-president respectively. The members anticipate that this Club will be second to none in South Auckland during the coming season. MELROSE FOOTBALL CLUB. The Melrose Football Club held a meeting last evening to re-organlse the Club, and to elect officers for the coming season. They intend competing for the new Junior Association medais.

A practice match will be held in the Domain on Saturday noxb for the members of the Club.
