KUAOTUNU GOLDFIELDS.
MORE SYNDICATES STARTED.
The goldfield at Kuaotunu is steadily progressing, and there are nowalargonumber of mines pegged. On Monday a meeting of shareholders in the Hidden Treasure Licensed Holding took place ab Mr H. M. Shepherd's office, No. 12, New Zealand Insurance Buildings. There was a large attendance. It was decided to work the holding as a syndicate, Mr H. M. Shepherd being appointed secretary and also trustee of the mine for the shareholders. The following gentlemen were appointed a committee of management with power to aC b : — Messrs A. Dewar, 0. Humphreys, T. B. Hawkins, J. Chambers, and J. S, Banks. It i 3 contemplated that work will be commenced almost immediately, as Mr Dewar proceeds to Kuaotunu next week to start operations. It ia reported Uiftt the Kapai mine, which is situated be-
tween the Try Fluke and Hidden Treasure, is now within some 20 feec of the supposed course of the Try Fluke reef, and it should be cut close upon the boundary of tho property of this syndicate.
KUAOTUNU HOLDING.
A meeting of shareholders in this syndicate was also held in the same office, when bhe holding was transferred to the name of the Secretary, Mr H. M. Shepherd, in trust for the shareholders. A committee of management was appointed, consisting of the following gentlemen : —Messrs J. M. Alexander, A. Dewar, J. E. Banks, E. Cooper and W. Bailey. The Committee afterwards decided that Mr Dewar should proceed bo Kuaobunu next Thursday and sbarb operations. It is anticipated that the reef from the Just in Time mine should be picked up in this holding. The Kuaotunu mine consists of 15 acres well situated. It is bounded on the west by the Try Fluke and Carbine, on the north by the Red Mercury and Just in Time, on the south by the Hidden Treasure, and on the east by the Coromandel. The syndicate expect to obtain 200 feet of backs from level upon underlie of the Try Fluke reef, as well as anticipating finding the Just in Time lode.
