Whereas the lands mentioned in the Schedule hereto are required to be taken, under " The Public Works Act, 1882," and its amendments, fix a certain work, to wit, the construction of roads in connection with the railway from Kaukapakapa northwards, portion of Kaukapakapa Section : And whereas the Minister for Public Works has laid before the Governor the memorial, accompanied by a map, as required by the said Act and the amendments thereof : Now, therefore, I, William Hiilier, Earl of Onslow, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities in mo vested by "The Public Works Act, 1882," and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in that behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that, from and after the date of the publicatiou hereof in t.ie "New Zealand Gazette," the lands mentioned in the Schedule hereto are hereby taken for the purposes of the construction of the said roads.
