Thames, this day. May Queen. —When breaking down No. 1 reef in the drive yesterday afternoon colours of gold were seen in the quartz, which is 4 inches in thickness. This is the first gold seen since commencing operations, and is very encouraging. . Lone Hand.—The low level drive yeslerday reached the boundary. Cambria.— Yesterday afternoon 101b of picked stone were obtained from the third sfcope on No. 7 leader. Dives.—This morning the mine manager Wired : "81b picked stone from No. 6 stope east of rise. Will crush on Friday." New Alburnia.—The mine manager telegraphed to-day: "Obtained 1670z amalgam ; general dirt shaping very well at battery."
