ARRIVAL OF THE ARAWATA.
Shortly after 8 o'clock this morning the Union S.S. Company's steamer Arawata, Captain Smith, arrived in port from her usual trip to the Fiji group, via Russell, bringing a dozen passengers and a full cargo of tropical produce, including about 4,000 bunches of bananas and some 350 tons of raw sugar from the Laucola Bay mills. After leaving here three weeks ago the Arawata had a pretty rough passage up to the Fijis, falling in with a heavy gale and much dirty weather. In the Fiji Group she called Suva, Levuka, and Laucola Bay, and left Suva finally for Auckland on the 22nd inst. at 6 a.m. She had variable winds with head seas, and fine weather to the New Zealand coasb, and reached Russell at six o'clock last evening. After an hour's stay, during which she landed her cargo and mails for Sydney, to be picked up by the Mararoa. she resumed her voyage to Auckland, and made the run down the coast in thirteen hours. Mr Munro, purser, favours us with late Suva and Levuka files.
