Thames, this day. Norfolk. — The works in progress in this mine are restricted bo the intermediate level, where two levels are being driven on the reef from theriso. Thirty feet has been driven in bhe eastern drive, and there is a decided improvement in the face. The reef has been large from the starting-point, aDd ib is sbill large, being aboub five feeb wide in the face. The hangingwall is expected to be the best portion of the reef. The solid quartz ' in the face ia about > eighteen inches wide. The peculiar kind of quartz that cenerally carries the gold has just made its appearance. The other portiop of Cue reef is mixed a little with
sandstone. It is intended to crosscut the face into the hangingwall. Saxon.—The fornighbly cleaning up this afternoon produced 3750z retorted gold from 445 loads of quartz and 401b picked stone.
