AUCKLAND TRAMWAYS.
TAKEN OVER BY . THE MORTGAGEES.
The Committee appointed by the shareholders of the Auckland Tramway Company failed to come to any arrangement with the Bank of New Zealand by which the concern could remain in the Company's hands, and the possibility, of any arrangement being arrived at between them has now practically been hung up pending negotiations which are now proceedingwithaMelbourne syndicate. Five days ago the mortgagees gave the Tramway Company notice of their intention to take over the business as a going concern, and the time limit having expired to-day, Mr F. A. White was placed in charge as manager for the bank, the-cars! running as usual.
