NEW ZEALAND FISH AND GAME.

LARGE CONSIGNMENT FOR MELBOURNE.

Melbourne, August 7. The refrigerating chamber of the steamer Mararoa, which arrived from New Zealand yesterday, was completely filled with some of the finest New Zealand fish and birds. The consignment comprised some twenty tons of schnapper, English salmon, flounder soles flatfish, garfish, groper (red and Sue) and cod, while the birds com--3 close upon one thousand brace of wild pigeons, pheasants wild duck, oakaki, and kaka. The whole are conStedtothe Colonial Fish Company, and have arrived in excellent order under care of Mr Lundun, the Company's Secretary. This is the third consignment the steamer Mararoa has brought to this colony. The present cargo has been taken to the Richmond Ice Works prior to being exhibited for sale shortly, due notice of which will be given.
