SINGAPORE'S SUCCESS.
In the race for the July Stakes at the A. J.C. Meeting, won by the Hon. J. White's colt Singapore, punters had to lay 7 to 4 on him. The colt is described as being of tho lazy tribe—a good fault—and gallops like a stayer. Up to fche present both Singapore and Nordenfeldt have repeated exactly the same things, though not in the same races.
The first time Nordenfeldt started he did not get a place, but fche second occasion found his number firsfc on the board, and dibbo Singapore, who claims being sired by Martini-Henri from Malacca (imp.), by King of the Forest from Catinka, by Paul Jones out of Ding Dong, by Kettledrum from Stella, by West Singapore's victory has entailed upon him a 51b penalty for the Melbourne Cup, which brings his weight; up to 7st 31b.
