SHIPBUILDING TRADE.
TWO NEW VESSELS.
Affairs in Auckland in the shipbuilding line have not been for bonao time past in a very brisk state, and only one or two occasional orders coming to hand for vessels relieves tho depression among shipwrights and builders. The latest orders have been received by Messrs Sims and Brown, Cus-toms-street, and Mr W. Holmes, North Shore. sTho former is a contract from Captain Micheli to construct a brigantine for the Island trade on the model of the old Nautilus, now in port, which will bo broken up on her next return to the* Waitemata. Mr Holmes has just laid tho keel for a new steamer, 85ft. in length by 15ft. beam, for a Wellington firm.
