Amateur instrumentalists will be pleased to learn that an orchestral society has been formed, and that the first annual meeting will take place in Bobson's Booms tomorrow evening: at 8 o'clock. J. AitKeu Connell, Esq., in the chair. The annual meeting of tbe Onehunga Ladies' Benevolent Society was held law evening. The report as submitted by cnw Secretary, Mrs Hutchinson, was very satisfactory. Twenty-nine cases had reoeivea assistance during the year, the number au present being 21. The Committee were sorry to find that while the demands upou tbe Society were increasing the collections were becoming less. Thanks were given w Drs.
