AQUATICS.

A meeting of the committee of the Auckland Rowing Association,was held on Tuesday evening to consider the advisability of holding the' proposed ' sports meeting in face of the expressed disapproval of the _ Amateur Athletic Club. After some discusoion it was resolved to let the matter drop, so no sports will be held. The desire •of the committee was to hold a regatta on Lake Takapuna instead, but when it came to settling a date it ' was found there was none open. The 23rd inst. is too early, the 30th is the Judge's .Bay Regatta, cm the first. Saturday in April the Amateur Athletic Club hold their autumn meetinp-j aud on the following Saturday the carnival of the .Auckland Racing Club is on. After that the rowing men will be thinking of football and it will bo altogether too late for a regatta.
