OKAIHAU GLEE CLUB CONCERT.
The above Club gave their sixth concert on the evening of the Bay of Islands Horticultural and Agricultural Society'? show day, Wednesday, November 21st, and as usual ifc was a success. Owing to the unsettled ttate of the weather, the audience was not; so large as at tho last concert, but the ball was conveniently full, and the handsome sum of £10 14s"was taken at the doors. Tho. Club was in good fettle, and under the leadership of Mr W. H. Nicholson gave right glees with good effect. Although all the gloos were good ones, 'the most taking were "The Rhino Raffc Song," "Come to theFair''(from opera "Martha"'),"From Will to Hill Resounding" (from Opera "Era Diavalo 1') and " Dame Durden." Amongst the solos sung may be mentioned "They All Love Jack," sung by Mr Maekerath in good style. " Vestevdfiy,"' by Miss C. Lewis, was very nicely rendered. Miss C. McLean'(Wftip'u) favoured with two songs, "Shells of Oce^n" and "The Female Auctioneer," the latter being encored. Mrs IT. Dickeson (Kaikohe) was as usual very good, p.ffieoially in her ?-ong "No, Sir." This lads and Mr W. Goft'e gave the wellknown d'net "Very Suspicious," which was deservedly encored. Mr W. H. Nicholson sang two comic song?, "Dispensary Doctor "and "Nobody Knows," the latter bringing clown the house. After the concert the hall was cletred for dancing, which was kept up until daylight.
