THE PRESBYTERIAN SQUABBLE AT NEW PLYMOUTH.

New Plymouth, this day. NOTHKT! alleged perjury case will shortly be heard here, the Rev. M. S. Breach baying sworn an information against oqo of the witnesses in a ca&e having reference to the Presbyterian Church affair. The charge will be heard on December 14th. Fifteen witnesses will be called and the localities from which they are to be subpoenaed are between Auckland and Dunedin.

The contractor for the extension of the Victoria Wharf, Devonport, is making good progress with his work. The wharf is being: lengthened so as to allow of three ferry steriiners berthing there simultaneously. There is still a good deal of work in the shape of pile-driving, planking, etc., to ]>c gob through.

An action of some importance was heard jit the X 35. Court to-day. The Auckland Hospital and Charitable Aid Beard sued the ' vVanganui Charitable Aid Board for £11 10s, cost of maintenance of a man named Morris at the Oid Men's Refuge, Morris having come from the Wanpanui district' six months previously. The ca?e was contested, Mr E. Hesketh having been retained by the plaintiff's, and M-Theo. Cooper for the defence, and evidence was taken at some length, Particulars appear in another column.
