SACRED AND SECULAR CONCERT.

Syfce was in very good voice, andsansj very sweetly, and with a large amount of pianos fchac touching song, "Resignation," A quartette was next, given by Miss Heron.» Mrs Collings, and Messrs "Hipkins and It.'jaly, and was followed by Mr'Klinn, who sarcg", "Ann! Ana! Ye Brave," Mrs Collins then rendered " VtiAhti," and Mr King- san.iy "Uuth and Naomi." Both these songs" were nicely given and well received. | Misses Heron an 3 Jar vis sang a duet, "Whispering Hype," and a quintette by Misses Dixon, Robinson, Jams, Mrs Ceilings nod Mr Blinn brought the first part ot" the programme to a close. The second pare (secular) was opened with a piano solo by Mies Stevens, and the choir followed in a glee, "Lordly Gallants." Mr King sang " Haunting Eyes " very nicely, while the song " Little Mountain Lad," by Miss Dixon, was so well rendered that an encore was demanded. Miss Rosie .Jarvis then recited "A Christinas Story"1 in a truly touching way, showing that both time and trouble had nob been spared. " Very auspicious,". an amusing duet, was given in capital style by Miss King and Mr Smith, and an "imperative encore had to be responded to. Mr llooney then sang "Steering Home," and Mr Hood played a violin solo in such a manner that the audience thought they ought to hear it twice instead of once. Mr .Smith, in his comic song about " Minding Baby," fairly brought down the house, and he responded to an encore by giving another equally funny song. Miss Heron gave " The Castle Gates," and was followed with a comic brio by Messrs Slinn, Hipkins and Richards. " Sprung a Leak " and "Good Company," two songs by Messrs Hookey and Slinn brought a very successful concert to a close. Aliases Stevens, Smith and Lester and Mr & Adams kindly accompanied the singera. Mr Adams also contributed a piano selection, for which he received an encore. The proceeds are to bo dyvotei! to Lh(; choir fund.
