THE ANNIVERSARY REGATTA.

The date of holding the adjourned meeting of those interested in promoting the Anniversary Regatta has been altered ftom nexfc Tuesday to Wednesday evening. The place of meeting is the public room at the Harbour Board offices. There will no doubt b« a large attendance of citizens connected with the mercantile interests and those interested in keeping up this annual aquatic festival. The Mayor, Mr A. E. Devore, has arranged to be present and to preside.

Owing tea bungle over the yacht race, a special meeting will be required before fche prize is awarded. It is understood the Era, of Sydney, will bo declared the winner.

The New Zcalanders resident in Sydney met on the Wharf and welcomed the Canterbury crew, who were passengers by the Waihoru, which arrived to-day. The oarsmen were afterwards entertained at the Town Hall by the Deputy-Mayor and aldermen, who welcomed tbem to Sydney.

At a meeting of those interested in aquatics, held last night, it was decided to form a rowing club, and Messrs Poland, Mcgregor, and Ashor were appointed a committee to draw up rules. Thirty members have already joined.
