On Saturday afternoon the s.e. Wanaka left for tho South with two passengers, Mr Haining and Mrs Molloy, and the Southern portion oi the inward San Francisco mail and cargo.

On Saturd ay evening the p.k. Glenel arrived from Wellington, via Wanganui, Opnnake and New Plymouth, with cargo and the following; passengers: — Miss frariety, Mrs Thomas, Messrs Gut-hrie, Clatlt, Sclierff, Appleband, Claphen. Kidd, Thomas and Taiwhanga,

At 6.30 a.m. yesterday the s.s. Penguin arrived from the South with carg;o and the following passongers :—Judge Puekey, Archdeacon Oovefct, Dr. Brown, Miss Puckoy, Mrs Honoy field, TCovf?. ,T. S. Hill, T. A. Nome, Messrs Howie, Barton, Fraser, Puckoy, Hood, Jury, and Mangakaho. The Penguin left Port Chalmers at 6 p.m. on the sth inst., and arrived afcLyttelton at 11.30 a.m. on the 6th ; leffc again for Wellington ad 9 p.m., and arrived afc 2 p.m. on the 7fch; sailed for Picton and Nelson afe 3 p.m. on the Bth, arriving at the latter port; at 10.30 a.m. on the 9th ; left for New Plymouth at 11 p.m., and arrived at 1 p.m. on tho 10fch ; sailed for the Manukau at*3p.ro., crossed the bar ab 4.30 a.m. on the 11th, arriving as above. Experienced fine weather and smooth seas to Wellington, thence to arrival strong southerly winds and heavy seas.
