WELLINGTON.
Mr Dixon, M,P. of Birmingham, arrived from Auckland to-day, will remain in Wellington some days. Mr Dixon is the owner of a station in "the Wairarapa, at one time owned by Waring Taylor, and it is stated that Mr Dixon, jun., will bo in charge of the property.

At Outram, Samuel Shaw, of Berwick, was committed for trial for making a false declaration. A Mrs Sparks, having left her husband, had been living with Shaw, and on her death Shaw registered her as his wife. Hence these proceedings. RESIGNATION OF UK BROWN. Dr. Brown has resigned his seat on the Education Board.
